What have you discovered so far about the play your group has chosen to study?

Wwe have discovered that it is set out on a ship which splits in half so the rest is on an Island. we are also still deciding on which characters to chose.

Which key characters have been introduced?

I am thinking of introducing a truck driver to replace a character and pedestrians on ther street also to replace other characters.

Mathew 4:22-24

22and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

Jesus Heals the Sick

23Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. 24News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them.

Mark 10:46-52

Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sight

46Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (that is, the Son of Timaeus), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

48Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

49Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 50Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

51“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”

52“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

1. Describe in your own words the message of each Bible passage. the first one tells me that Jesus is powerful and that he is also very caring and loving towards other people. the second one also tells me that he is a loving person and is not greedy or selfish.

2. How is Jesus portrayed in the chosen passages. Jesus is shown as being powerful and also as a kind gentle person who helps everyone he can.

3. Discuss your personal response to the messages portrayed by the passages. I think that it is showing Jesus and what he has done. it is showing us more of what Jesus was like. it also shows how Jesus looked after everyone and saved many peoples lives.

4. From the portrayal draw your own image of Jesus in one of the parables.

Analysis

One of the main features of this advertisement is the colour. The black colour is as dark as a crow and it shows power and strength. Another feature is the reading path which starts straight at the lady in the centre of the advertisement and then it goes down her body to the bottom. After that it then follows the background to the left and up to the billabong logo. It then follows over past her head and down the left side of the background.

The logo at the top left of the page ‘Billabong’ symbolizes that the product is from billabong or it represents something for billabong. The vectors on the lady are straight and sharp at the corners as she is the main attraction then the background is curved and soft. Also the size of the lady takes up most of the advertisement and that is another technique which is used to present the product.

The lighting comes straight from the background to the centre. The lighting lights up the product and that makes it more noticeable. The shot which is used is a long shot as it shows the body of the lady and it also shows some background around it. The angle of the camera is low looking up at the product. This camera angle gives more power to the product.

In the background it is very dark and gloomy then they have some bright features coming out to attract the viewer’s attention to look at it. The way that the lady has her hair out also represents power and dominance to her. The way that she is standing also gives us the idea that she is the attraction, as she as not gazing or looking at the viewer.

The main product of this advertisement is the clothes that the lady is wearing. She is selling to the audience that if the purchase those clothes they will be beautiful and look like her. In small writing to the right there is also the name of the product which is ‘Tara Dakides.’  There is also a white arrow in the background pointing at the billabong logo. This suggests that the logo is also an important part of this as it is related to the product.
