- What CST and IST grade what you allocate yourself for this project? Justify your response. I would give myself a high B or an A because e looked at the criteria and did exactly as it asked us to do for an A. The criteria has a column for getting an A and that is what we read and followed so our project should also be an A. For the individual criteria I also did the same thing and followed it to get an A.
- What could you do tonight that would improve your grade? Go through all of my journals and diigo tags and revise them so that the can be better and more detailed.
- What grade do you think your team will give you for teamwork? Why? they will probably give me an 4 out of 5 which is also an A because I have continusouly worked and helped my group during this project.
- Thinking about your presentation on Monday, what do you need to do to score an “A” grade? (hint: Look at the presentation skills). What could you do before Monday, to ensure you receive an “A”? To reicieve an A we need to have eye contact, clear speech, hand gestures, and be positive so that they ca understand what we have to say. We can do this be reharsing and practicing our speeches so that we are confident and we dont stuff up on the day of presentation.

What influences your values about issues relating to your life? The media can actually influence my values about issues relating to my life. the way that they present it can actually be very persuasive and change what you think. Also role models that you look up to canm influence your values.

Do you ever compare images/values presented by the media to those of the bible? If so why? If not why not? no i dont compare images/values from the media to those of the bible because when it is presented it makes you focus on something else and the bible really dosent can to your mind. Although when the media presents something religious e.g. a cross, church etc… that is when the bible compares to the images.

Has this project challenged you to examine your values? Why / Why not. Yes this project his challenged me to examine my values because it deals with things that relate to us and will be useful in our future. e.g. the social justice issue I am doing is teenage drinking and that issue involves me and it can really affect me.

- How do you feel the media portrays social justice issues? the media portrays social justice issues by adding in false information and statistics to make it look and sound worse than what it really is. the media just exagerates in what they do to publish a article.
- Has it been difficult to find articles on social justice issues why/why not? No not really because it has been in the news and newsreporters are all over the place. as soon as newsreporters here it the articles are on the internet in just seconds. Although it is hard to find videos on the social justice issue as there are not as many videos.
- Do you think that the media operates from a moral framework? Give evidence by using your research. no the media does not operate from a moral framework as they lie and give the public false information just to get them interested. Their moral maturity level is very low as they would do anything just to get their articles published/shown. e.g. Media Watch is a perfect example as it shows exactly what publishers try do do and the facts that they lie about.

Describe what is a critique. A critique involves identifying critical things to say about an article and resisting the temptation to describe rather than analyse
2. Outline the FOUR stages in a critique. the four stages in a critique are an introduction, a summary of the article, your anaylsis or critical commentary on the original text and your conclusion or evaluation
3. Can a critique be positive? Discuss. No a critique can not be positive because a critique is just a description stating facts and involves identifying critical things about the article.

2. Describe one media account of this issue Billy Slater will only miss one game after his charge was downgraded from a grade two to a grade one charge after jumping into a fight between the dragons and storms.
3. Where did you get this media account from? I got this media account from the nine msn sports news on their website.
4. Is this media account correct or reliable? Why? Not all the parts of the issue are 100% correct because the story of exactly what happened changes as it is passed through one person to another. Also the real story will only be correct if you were their and saw every second of what happened.

SENSATIONAL claims of headbutting – not once, but three times – was enough to help Melbourne’s star fullback Billy Slater score a mini-victory before the NRL judiciary last night.
Slater, who will now only miss one game after his contrary conduct charge was downgraded from a grade two to a grade one, convinced the three-man panel he was not the culprit who sparked Monday night’s ugly brawl between the Storm and St George-Illawarra Dragons.
Video footage showed Slater climbing over the back of teammate Israel Folau midway through the first half to get involved in an altercation which had yet to explode.
The NRL’s counsel Peter Kite said had Slater, one of the game’s true excitement machines, stayed away from the bust-up, an all-in brawl may not have taken place.
But Slater, who remained calm and collected during the 40-minute hearing, claimed it was not until Dragons’ winger Jason Nightingale launched his head into his path several times that left him with no other option but unleash a flurry of punches.
“The first two may have been accidental, but it’s the third one I reacted to.
“I’m not saying I’ve done the right thing, and I’m not saying running in (to the melee) was the right thing. I’m not pleading innocent. I realise I’m a role model . . . but I didn’t throw a punch until the third headbutt.”
Slater did not back down on his startling headbutt claims afterwards when he said: “I don’t know if they missed it (the incident), but it was one thing we brought up. I’m not saying I’ve done the right thing by throwing punches, but there was an element of me being provoked as well.”
Kite stressed the importance of players not taking the law into their own hands.
“While the matter is not a prevalent offence, it is of growing concern. There have been a number of charges laid for contrary conduct with eight players in the Toyota Cup clash with Brisbane and North Queensland this weekend charged for a similar event,” Kite said.
“There needs to be a clear message to all players that they must remain calm in these circumstances and for them to let the referees control the discipline on the field, certainly not running in in an aggressive manner and leaping over other players to get involved in the action.”
Slater’s grade one carried 125 points, which was bumped up to 150 points because of previous offences. But a guilty plea reduced the overall charge to 112 points.

The clip that we watched today in class was called the media watch. the clip was basically showing news and events from different channels and was showing were they had made mistakes. it was showing us what the media does and how it is not always correct.
